What's does IP65 waterproof 3528 Led Lights mean?

aterproof... well it depends... see this [...] IP65 means you can spray water on it. If you want to fully submerse something, you need IP68 FULLY SUBMERSIBLE which states immersion > 30 minutes. I put these in a shallow ornamental pool. (I kept both ends fully out of the water). It failed after a few days. The back of the led strip has a peel off sticky tape that has bare solder pads every 3rd led. Marks under the sticky shows that water seeped in and reacted with the copper pads. Again, I did not know that IP65 waterproof did not mean you can't immerse it. Luckily I only used 8ft, so I took the remainder, soldered on new end and put it within clear plastic tubing and sealed both ends (still keeping the ends out of the pond, spray painted tubing ends out of the water. This seems to work. But I could have done the same thing to a 'not waterproof' led strip and gotten the same effect for cheaper. I am sure I will get comments like "you should have done your homework before buying". If so, that's fine, however this review may save others a problem and some money. Yes I got what I ordered, I just didn't know it wasn't what I wanted.
